Due to bad weather, the Manthali Lukla flight has been affected. The visibility decreased due to thick fog, and the Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla was closed, leading to flight disruptions, informed the chief of Manthali Airport, Hiran Shah.

Heavy fog in the area has reduced visibility for the past few days. While some flights took place on Thursday morning, the weather deteriorated by the afternoon. By Friday morning, there was no improvement in Lukla’s weather, further affecting flights.

With the flights canceled, over 500 tourists have been stranded in Manthali. “More than 500 tourists were supposed to arrive here yesterday and today, but due to the bad weather in Solukhumbhu, flights couldn’t operate, so tourists are stranded here,” Shah said.

Unable to take regular flights, some tourists have flown to Lukla by helicopter. From Manthali Airport, flights by Sita, Tara, and Summit Air usually transport tourists to and from the Solu region. Tourists traveling by road from Kathmandu to Manthali usually take a flight from here to the Everest region.
