Maulakali Cable Car Limited (MCL) has convened a Special General Meeting (SGM) to seek shareholders’ approval for the issuance of 50 percent rights shares, aimed at strengthening the company’s capital base and supporting its future growth plans. The meeting has been scheduled for Shrawan 13 and will be held at the IME Complex in Panipokhari, Kathmandu.

Proposal to Issue 50% Rights Shares
According to the company’s notice, the Special General Meeting will consider and approve a proposal to issue rights shares equivalent to 50 percent of the company’s existing paid-up capital. The proposed rights offering is expected to increase the company’s issued capital and provide additional financial resources for its ongoing operations and future expansion.
Capital Increase and Charter Amendment on Agenda
Besides the rights share proposal, shareholders will also deliberate on a plan to increase the company’s issued capital. The meeting will further consider amendments to the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association to incorporate the proposed capital enhancement and other related changes.

Integrated Cable Car and Resort Project
Established in October 2016, Maulakali Cable Car Limited operates the Maulakali Cable Car and an integrated 65-key resort in Gaindakot, Nawalpur District. The cable car service officially commenced commercial operations in mid-April 2023, providing easier access to the popular Maulakali Temple and boosting tourism in the region.
The company’s hospitality component, a 65-room resort, began operations in mid-May 2025, expanding its tourism offerings by combining transportation, accommodation, and leisure services within a single destination.

Maulakali Cable Car Limited is promoted by leading Nepali entrepreneurs Chandra Prasad Dhakal and Hem Raj Dhakal, who hold the company’s majority stake both individually and through closely held business entities.
