Maulapur to Host Sixth Madhani Mahotsav

The sixth ‘Madhani Mahotsav’ is set to take place in Maulapur, Rautahat, from February 23 to 27. During a press conference today, Maulapur Municipality announced that the festival aims to support the inclusion of the historically significant Mahadev Temple in the UNESCO World Heritage list and promote local tourism.

Municipality Chief Reena Kumari Sah stated that the event is being organized to promote religious, social, cultural, and commercial sectors.

The festival will feature cultural programs, including a special Madhani dance, along with sports and other activities, with participation from renowned artists from Nepal and India. The municipality has allocated NPR 8.7 million for this year’s festival, according to Chief Executive Officer Rambabu Sah.

Mayor Sah emphasized that the Mahadev Temple in Maulapur, recognized as one of Nepal’s top 100 historic and archaeological sites, should be listed as a World Heritage Site, urging concerned authorities to take necessary steps.
