Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Urges EU to Lift Ban on Nepal Airlines

Badri Prasad Pandey, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, has called on the European Union (EU) to lift the ban on Nepali airlines flying in EU airspace. In a meeting held on Friday at the Ministry, Minister Pandey met with a delegation, including EU Ambassador to Nepal Veronique Lorenzo, to discuss the matter.

Minister Pandey highlighted the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Nepal and the EU, noting that the two entities have enjoyed a partnership for over five decades. He emphasized that the lifting of the ban would significantly benefit Nepal, especially its tourism sector, and urged the EU to take action as soon as possible.

Ambassador Lorenzo acknowledged the impact of the EU’s air ban on Nepal’s tourism industry and stressed the importance of Nepal’s technological advancement in the civil aviation sector. Additionally, she mentioned that France’s Airbus company is ready to provide support to Nepal’s civil aviation sector, further boosting Nepal’s aviation capabilities.

The discussions are expected to pave the way for a constructive resolution regarding the ban and enhance Nepal’s aviation prospects.
