He emphasized the need to promote aviation climate services for safe air operations, especially in a country like Nepal with diverse climatic conditions.
Minister Basnet also advocated for coordinated efforts with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to expand and improve these services, affirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting effective planning and implementation of aviation climate services.
During the seminar, Dr. Jagdishwar Karmacharya, the Director General of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, emphasized the significance of aviation climate services, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring air travel safety and accurate rain prediction.
Multiple speakers stressed the importance of implementing policies and services related to aviation climate effectively. They urged collaborative efforts to ensure efficient implementation to enhance air travel safety and weather prediction capabilities.
The seminar ended with a unanimous agreement on the critical necessity of comprehensive aviation climate services to improve flight safety and weather forecasting in Nepal.
