Minister Pandey Announces Timely Amendment Of Pashupati Area Development Trust Act

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chairperson of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, Badri Prasad Pandey, has announced that the Act governing the Trust will be amended to reflect current needs.

Speaking at the 39th-anniversary celebration of the Pashupati Area Development Trust on Wednesday, Minister Pandey stated that a draft of the amended Act has already been prepared and will soon be presented to the Council of Ministers and passed through Parliament.

“It is essential to amend the Act according to present-day requirements,” the Minister said. “Pashupatinath is not only a sacred center for Hindus but also a heritage that gives Nepal an international identity.”

He expressed concern that positive developments are being overshadowed by negative incidents, which receive disproportionate attention. He also voiced serious concern over the increasing emigration of intellectuals and emphasized the need to harness their talents for national development.

Furthermore, the Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between Lumbini Development Trust and Pashupati Development Trust, both of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
