Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, emphasized the vital role of effectively utilizing Nepal’s rich cultural heritage to drive the nation’s development forward. Speaking at the celebration of the Cultural Corporation’s 53rd anniversary, Minister Pandey emphasized that Nepal is making steady progress toward development and that, to secure long-term growth, the country’s cultural resources must be carefully utilized.

Minister Pandey highlighted the need for its proper preservation and promotion to drive sustainable growth. According to Pandey, effective utilization of cultural assets can significantly boost tourism and the economy. “Nepal can become a prosperous and happy country if we can show that we can use our cultural and heritage resources effectively,” the Minister stated.

Although the nation experienced economic setbacks after the disasters and the COVID-19 outbreak, he continued, Nepal’s economy is currently slowly rebounding. Additionally, he pointed out that the country has moved from war to peace and has not experienced starvation, highlighting the fact that Nepal’s progress is now irreversible.

Minister Pandey reiterated the ministry’s commitment to provide it the support it needs for its future initiatives. He also dedicated a recently built lecture hall on the Corporation’s grounds in honor of the event. The awarding of the esteemed Rastriya Dirghasadhana Samman (National Lifetime Achievement Honor) to Bhairab Bahadur Thapa, Nepal’s first dance director, was a major event highlight.
