Minister Pandey Emphasizes Encouragement for Child Talent

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has stressed the importance of encouraging young talent to help them flourish. Speaking at the launch event of the children’s story collection ‘The Sprouting Stories’ by eight-year-old writer Aakriti Pandey, he highlighted the vital role of family, schools, and society in nurturing children’s capabilities.

Minister Pandey praised Aakriti’s storytelling skills, stating, “Writing at such a young age is a remarkable achievement. Encouraging young writers is essential, as those engaged in literature possess greater influence in any profession.” Remembering Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, he noted that literary figures are emotional individuals whose sensitivity inspires them to contribute positively to society.

He further emphasized the need for collective support from families, schools, and communities to enhance children’s potential. Discussing the power of imagination, he remarked that in today’s digital age, imagination remains the most potent force, surpassing even the capabilities of AI and the internet.

Published by Sanskar Publication, ‘The Sprouting Stories’ comprises 11 English-language stories. The event was attended by notable figures, including Nepal Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dhaneshwar Nepal, Jay Nepal Foundation Chairman Badri Aryal, and writer Shankar Kumar Pradhan. They commended Aakriti for maintaining literary standards and doing justice to her characters.
