Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has emphasized tourism as a cornerstone of Nepal’s economic development. Speaking at the inauguration of the “Loralin Mandala Lord” hotel in Maharajgunj today, Minister Pandey underlined the need to develop and expand tourism from the grassroots level to ensure its benefits reach the broader population.
He stressed the importance of increasing foreign tourist arrivals and advancing tourism programs in a structured manner. Calling on the private sector to invest in the tourism industry, he assured that the government would guarantee investment security. “Invest confidently; the government is committed to ensuring the safety of your investments,” he stated.
Minister Pandey reiterated the government’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector to promote sustainable tourism, thereby creating maximum employment opportunities. He also highlighted the role of tourism in earning foreign currency, generating employment, boosting economic activities, and contributing to overall economic development. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for infrastructure development, such as hotels and resorts, as essential elements of the tourism sector’s growth.
