Minister Pandey Vows to Reclaim Aviation Training Institute Land

Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has expressed his commitment to reclaim the land allocated to the Nepal Civil Aviation Training Academy. Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘ATC Simulator and Basic Air Traffic Service Training event, organized by the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) and the Civil Aviation Training Academy today, Minister Pandey highlighted the importance of safeguarding the institution’s assets.

During his address, Minister Pandey stated, “The government should not take over land belonging to any educational institution. The land allocated to the Nepal Civil Aviation Training Academy was reclaimed by the government in 2076 BS. It is not right to seize the land of educational establishments. I will move forward with the process to return it.”

Minister Pandey further assured that once the land is returned, the necessary infrastructure will be developed to produce skilled manpower in aviation. He emphasized his plan to expedite the process of returning the academy’s land to facilitate training and development.

He stressed the crucial role that graduates from the academy play in ensuring the safety of Nepalese airspace, saying, “If the civil aviation sector weakens, we cannot showcase much. It is vital to work in a way that assures the world that Nepal’s airspace is safe.”

Minister Pandey also directed the leadership of CAAN to take responsibility for ensuring the safety of Nepal’s airspace, reiterating the government’s commitment to making Nepal Airlines more secure and reliable through necessary interventions.
