The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported a mix of weather conditions across Nepal, driven by the influence of westerly and local winds in the western and central regions and active monsoon winds affecting most parts of Koshi Province. According to the latest forecast, the weather this afternoon is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country.
Weather Conditions Across Nepal
Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in various areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Isolated showers may also occur in one or two locations in the remaining provinces. The Division has issued an alert for the possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places of Koshi Province. In addition, some high hilly and mountainous regions may experience light rain and snowfall.
Tonight, the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are forecast to remain partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will enjoy fair weather conditions. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in several parts of the aforementioned provinces and in isolated hilly areas of other regions.
Meteorologists also warn of potential heavy rainfall in one or two areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces tonight, along with light rain and snowfall in some high-altitude areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The public is advised to remain alert, especially in the regions at risk of heavy rainfall, which may cause localized flooding or landslides in vulnerable areas.
