The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported the continued influence of monsoon winds across Nepal. The monsoon low-pressure system is currently located south of its average position, affecting weather patterns throughout the country.
At present, cloudy conditions prevail in the hilly regions, as well as in Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while other parts of the country, including Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim, are experiencing partial cloud cover. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in some areas of these provinces.
According to the department, tonight, Sudurpaschim Province will see mostly to fully cloudy skies, with partial to moderate cloud cover expected in other provinces. Many areas in Sudurpaschim and a few in other provinces may experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
Additionally, some areas in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces are likely to witness heavy rainfall with strong winds, while isolated locations in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces could experience very heavy to extremely heavy downpours.
In a special weather bulletin issued on Wednesday afternoon, the department forecasted generally to fully cloudy skies in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces from Wednesday evening until Saturday morning, with partial to moderate cloud cover in other regions.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert for possible flooding and landslides due to the expected heavy rainfall.
