The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that monsoon winds are currently influencing weather conditions across the country. The monsoon trough is positioned at its average location in the western part of Nepal and slightly north of its average position in the eastern region. This has resulted in partial to generally cloudy weather across all parts of the country.
Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, has been observed in some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces. Similarly, light rain has been reported in one or two locations in Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. According to the weather bulletin issued by the department this morning, heavy rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, is occurring in one or two places in Madhesh Province.
The department has forecast that the weather will remain generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rainfall, with thunder and lightning, is expected in some areas of all provinces, with the possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two locations in Bagmati and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to be partially to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, is expected in some areas of all provinces. The department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces and has urged residents of these areas to remain cautious.
