The monsoon winds continue to affect weather conditions across Nepal, with the low-pressure line of the monsoon remaining around its average position, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The Department reported that the weather is currently generally cloudy across the country, with light to moderate rainfall occurring in various provinces, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali.
This afternoon, the Department predicts generally cloudy weather nationwide, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning expected in several areas of all provinces. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two locations within the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
As the day progresses, tonight’s forecast suggests that the country will experience partly to generally cloudy skies. The possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning remains for a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. In the next 24 hours, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in one or two locations within the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
The Department has urged the public to stay alert, as the ongoing weather conditions may partially impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transportation, as well as daily life in the affected areas.
In the last six hours, moderate to heavy rainfall was reported in the Morang and Dhankuta districts of Koshi Province and Lamjung district of Gandaki Province. Other affected areas include Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, and other parts of Koshi Province; Saptari and adjoining areas of Madhes Province; Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, and Nuwakot in Bagmati Province; Gorkha and Kaski in Gandaki Province; and some parts of Lumbini and Karnali provinces.
The Department continues to monitor the situation closely and advises the public to remain cautious and take necessary precautions.
