The monsoon system remains active across Nepal, with the monsoon trough positioned northward from its average location in the west, while it is near its average position in the east. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, partial effects of a low-pressure system in West Bengal, India, are also influencing weather patterns.
Currently, most parts of the country are experiencing partly to generally cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rainfall has been reported in a few areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as in one or two locations across other provinces.
As the day progresses, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, is likely in some areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with one or two locations in other provinces also experiencing similar weather. The Terai region of Koshi Province and parts of Madhesh Province may experience strong winds, while heavy rainfall is expected in one or two locations of Sudurpaschim Province.
During the night, partial to general cloud cover will persist in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is possible in a few areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with isolated locations in other regions.
