Monsoon Winds Bring Cloudy Weather and Rainfall Across Nepal

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon winds are currently affecting weather patterns across Nepal. The monsoon low-pressure line is positioned towards the western part of its average location and slightly northeast of its usual path, leading to widespread cloud cover and variable weather conditions throughout the country.

At present, the weather is partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is occurring in various regions including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with isolated showers in other areas.

Looking ahead, the Department forecasts that the country will remain generally cloudy this afternoon. Light to moderate rain, with thunder and lightning, is expected in several areas across all provinces. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in select locations within Koshi, Madhes, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and isolated areas in the remaining provinces.

Tonight, the weather will continue to be partly to generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to affect different parts of the country. Heavy rainfall is projected for isolated areas in Koshi and Madhes provinces. Light to moderate showers, along with thunder and lightning, are expected in several other areas over the next 24 hours.

Given the possibility of heavy rainfall in Koshi, Madhes, and Lumbini provinces, the Department advises residents in these regions to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
