Heroic Airlift: Mountain Guide Saved After 200-Meter Plunge on Pisang Peak

In a swift and coordinated rescue operation, the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) successfully rescued mountain guide Mr. Mingmar Tamang from Pisang Peak this morning following a serious accident. The incident occurred around 9:00 AM when Mr. Tamang fell nearly 200 meters while fixing ropes for his client just below the summit of Pisang Peak. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the NMA immediately initiated a rescue operation.

With the critical support of Altitude Air, a longline aerial rescue was carried out to evacuate Mr. Tamang from the high-altitude site. He was safely airlifted to Kathmandu and is currently undergoing medical treatment. Doctors have confirmed that he is out of danger. The NMA extended its heartfelt gratitude to Altitude Air and Captain Mr. Bibek Khadka for their prompt and professional assistance in the life-saving mission. Pisang Peak, located in the Annapurna region, is a popular destination for climbers, but its technical challenges and unpredictable weather continue to pose risks for even experienced mountaineers.
