Member of Parliament from Okhaldhunga, Ramhari Khatiwada, has urged the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation to resume flight services at Rumjatar Airport.
Due to continuous heavy rainfall, major roadways have been severely damaged, prompting Khatiwada to request air services from Rumjatar Airport to Kathmandu and Biratnagar as an alternative mode of transportation.
In his request, Khatiwada highlighted the challenges posed by the recent rains on Ashwin 11 and 12, stating, “There is currently no viable route from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga via Kavre and Sindhuli, and it also seems impossible to travel via Katari.”
The resumption of flights is seen as a vital step to ensure connectivity for the region, which has been cut off due to weather-induced road blockages.
