Our advisor, Mr. Buddhi Narayan Shrestha, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Milesfsky Award by IBRU, Durham University’s Centre for Borders Research, for his exceptional contribution to the study of boundaries and boundary dispute resolution.
Mr. Shrestha, the former Director General of the Survey Department in Nepal, has made remarkable contributions to addressing survey and border dispute issues. His extensive research on the border challenges between Nepal and neighboring countries, India and China, has played a significant role in seeking peaceful solutions to these disputes.
In addition to his work on border issues, Mr. Shrestha is a prolific author, having published 14 books, including International Boundaries of Nepal. This influential work has been translated into eight languages: Russian, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Polish, highlighting his global recognition in the field of border studies.
On this special occasion, the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) extends our warm congratulations to Mr. Shrestha. We also wish him continued good health, prosperity, and success in all his future endeavors.
