In a swift response to the devastating landslide in the Simaltal area of the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, the Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA Nepal) has rallied rafting guides and related stakeholders to assist in search and rescue efforts. The landslide, which tragically swept away two buses along with their passengers, has created an urgent demand for skilled rescue operations.
On Sunday, NARA Nepal issued an urgent appeal for rafting guides to join the search for the missing passengers. The association has pledged to cover all related expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and necessary equipment, for those participating in the rescue mission.
While the government has been conducting search operations, NARA Nepal emphasized the critical need for enhanced coordination and support. The association stressed that the skills developed for the rafting and tourism industry are equally vital in times of crisis and community assistance.
“Our skills are not just for rafting and tourism,” NARA Nepal stated. “In times of difficulty and rescue operations, it is our foremost duty to use our skills to assist our community and others. We earnestly request everyone to prioritize their safety while providing aid and rescue to those in need.”
In addition, NARA has called on all rafting guides and instructors in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhote Koshi, and other regions to contact the association for coordination.
This appeal underscores the collective responsibility and solidarity within the rafting community to contribute to emergency response efforts. NARA Nepal’s proactive approach aims to leverage the expertise of experienced individuals who can navigate difficult terrains and waters, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of search and rescue operations.
As the situation develops, the involvement of NARA Nepal is expected to bring substantial support to the ongoing efforts, offering hope to the affected families and reinforcing the spirit of community support and cooperation during challenging times.
