NATTA Collaborates with USAID on Maya Devi Heritage Destination Development

On 25th November 2024, the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) hosted a significant meeting with representatives from the USAID International Development Institute (IDI). The session, held to discuss the future of Maya Devi Heritage Destination, was chaired by NATTA President Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, with key participation from board members and USAID representatives.

The primary focus of the meeting was the “Maya Devi Heritage Destination Development and Promotion Project.” The discussion centered on strategies for the preservation and enhancement of Maya Devi’s cultural and historical significance. Maya Devi, an important site in Nepal’s rich heritage, is poised to become a globally recognized heritage destination, attracting not only local but international attention for its historical value.

A detailed presentation was delivered to outline the goals and initiatives aimed at preserving Maya Devi’s legacy while promoting its importance on a global scale. The project, which is expected to contribute to the sustainable development of the region, seeks to leverage heritage tourism as a tool for economic growth while ensuring the conservation of cultural assets.

Both NATTA and USAID expressed their commitment to working collaboratively on this project, emphasizing the need for long-term strategies that will preserve the cultural identity of Maya Devi while also promoting it as a world-class destination for heritage tourism.
