The Prakritipremi Group from Lalitpur, known for promoting natural health awareness, organized a hiking trip on the Ekikaran Trail in Kavrepalanchok for its members on March 23. Led by secretary and hiking expert Ram Devi Maharjan, the hike took place on the Ekikaran Trail.
The journey began from the organization’s office in Satdobato, with participants traveling via Suryabinayak and Banepa to Panauti. From there, the hike started, including visits to historical and cultural sites such as Indreshwar Mahadev Temple, Unmukta Bhairav, and Tribeni Ghat. The group also explored the Panauti Museum, which houses artifacts reflecting the area’s historical, archaeological, and cultural significance.
Afterward, the hikers continued through Gorakhnath and reached Sharadakot, where they visited a temple and explored historic forts built during Nepal’s unification period by King Prithvi Narayan Shah. The route offered scenic views of Banepa, Dhulikhel, and the Himalayas. The trail was lined with blooming rhododendrons, adding to the beauty of the journey.
Lunch was arranged at Sharada Bataase, where local rice, vegetables, and salad were served. The group follows strict guidelines against junk food, fast food, and alcohol, promoting a healthy lifestyle. After lunch, Maharjan led an interactive session, emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility in maintaining health through proper diet, exercise, and mindset.
The hike continued through Bataase, Cancer Hospital, Veer Balabhadra Kunwar Park, and Devi Sthan, ending with a climb up Hazar Sidhi to Dhulikhel before returning by vehicle. Throughout the hike, participants chanted, “Our health is in our hands.”
