Nepal Airlines’ Wide-Body A-330 Aircraft Returns to Kathmandu After C-Check

Nepal Airlines’ wide-body A-330 aircraft, identified by the call sign ‘N ALY,’ has arrived back in Kathmandu today following extensive C-check maintenance in Italy. The aircraft, named Annapurna, landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 8:36 AM after a two-and-a-half-month service period abroad.

The A-330, which was dispatched to Italy on June 22 for its scheduled C-check, is a critical asset for Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC). According to NAC spokesperson Ramesh Paudel, the return of this aircraft is set to enhance the national carrier’s capability to provide additional services. With this aircraft back in operation, NAC plans to operate flights to various long-distance international destinations, including Japan, utilizing a total of three planes.

The return of the A-330 is particularly significant given the current operational status of NAC’s fleet. Currently, only two of the carrier’s four Airbus aircraft, both narrow-body planes, have been in service. Another wide-body aircraft is also undergoing a C-check in Italy.

NAC’s move to reintegrate this A-330 into its fleet aligns with its strategy to expand international flight services and meet growing passenger demand.
