A Nepal–China cultural and tourism promotion program is set to be organized this upcoming Baishakh in Guilin, China. The announcement was made during a press conference held today. The event is being organized in collaboration with Guilin Merchants International Travel Service, Guilin Tourism University, and Guilin English Corner School.
According to Satyakala Tamang Lama, Chairperson of the organizing company, the program will feature participation from Nepali artists, tourism entrepreneurs, businesspersons, and government representatives. “The bilateral cultural exchange and tourism promotion program will take place on Baishakh 28 in Guilin. We believe it will strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in the tourism sector,” stated Chairperson Tamang.
Furba Gyalbo Moktan, the company’s Managing Director, shared that the event will showcase traditional songs and dances from both Nepal and China while promoting Nepal’s tourism offerings. He also informed that individuals who have contributed to the fields of Nepali culture and tourism will be honored during the program.
Renowned choreographer Kamal Rai announced that various cultural performances representing ethnic groups such as Rai, Limbu, Gurung, and Tharu reflecting the traditional attire and heritage from the eastern Mechi to the western Mahakali will be showcased at the event. This initiative is expected to foster deeper cultural understanding and boost tourism collaboration between Nepal and China.
