Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Reinstates Suspended Nepal Airlines Pilot

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has lifted the suspension of Nepal Airlines pilot Bhawana Pant. Pant was previously removed from active duty following allegations of engaging in prohibited activities in a restricted area at Tribhuvan International Airport.

CAAN spokesperson Hansraj Pandey stated that the suspension was revoked after an investigation found Pant not guilty of any serious violations. “A complaint was filed against pilot Pant for engaging in prohibited activities in a restricted area, but the investigation revealed no serious or safety-impacting actions. Therefore, her suspension has been lifted,” Pandey explained.

Pant, who pilots an Airbus A320-200 narrow-body aircraft for Nepal Airlines, was suspended from active duty on Jestha 21. Following the investigation, she has been reinstated and is now cleared to resume her flying duties.
