Aiming to contribute to the development and promotion of Nepal’s hospitality sector, the “Nepal Hospitality Conclave 2024” is set to take place in Kathmandu from Ashwin 10. The event will be held at the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Budhanilkantha and will focus on discussing the potential, challenges, and responsibilities of stakeholders in the hospitality industry.
Organized in collaboration with the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), WinStock Asia Nepal, WaterComm, and Nepal Traveler, this second edition of the conclave will provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge, skills, strategies, and ideas related to the hotel industry. The organizers shared this information during a press conference today.
The two-day event is expected to draw over 200 participants, including hotel operators, potential investors, policymakers, regulators, experts, leaders of national and international hotels operating in Nepal, and service providers associated with the sector. The conclave is also seen as an opportunity for those interested in learning more about the hotel and hospitality business.
Vinayak Shah, President of the Hotel Association Nepal, emphasized that the conclave will address various topics relevant to the hospitality sector, including the current state of hotels in Nepal, challenges, new trends and practices, innovation, collaboration, information technology, digital marketing, and partnerships.
“We are excited to collaborate in organizing this important event. I believe the discussions and deliberations during the conclave will help elevate Nepal’s service sector to new heights,” Shah stated.
In light of the government’s recent announcement of 2025 as the “Special Tourism Year” and the decade of 2080 BS as the “Nepal Tourism Decade,” the organizers noted that the conclave is timely and relevant.
Shah also highlighted that Nepal’s current hotel infrastructure can accommodate 3.5 million tourists, with billions already invested in the sector. He stressed the need for cooperation between the government and the private sector to maximize returns on this investment.
Subodh Thapa, Co-Founder of WinStock Asia Nepal and Chief Coordinator of the Nepal Hospitality Conclave, expressed confidence that the conclave will serve as a strategic platform to shape the future of Nepal’s hospitality sector. “Given the recent surge in large-scale investments, the growing need for sustainable practices, and the increasing competition within the hotel industry, the importance of the conclave has significantly risen,” he said.
The organizers also announced plans to draft a white paper that will provide the government with various recommendations on strengthening and institutionalizing the hospitality sector in Nepal.
