On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) set the exchange rates for various foreign currencies. According to the newly fixed rates, the value of several currencies, including the US Dollar, European Euro, UK Pound Sterling, Chinese Yuan, Saudi Arabian Riyal, Qatari Riyal, UAE Dirham, Swedish Krona, Hong Kong Dollar, Kuwaiti Dinar, Bahraini Dinar, and Omani Rial, has increased. On the other hand, the value of the Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Thai Baht, and South Korean Won has decreased.
As per the central bank’s determination, the buying rate for one US Dollar is set at NPR 135.54, while the selling rate is NPR 136.14. The buying rate for one European Euro is NPR 142.17, and the selling rate is NPR 142.80. For the UK Pound Sterling, the buying rate is NPR 172.05, and the selling rate is NPR 172.82. The Swiss Franc has a buying rate of NPR 151.20 and a selling rate of NPR 151.87.
The Australian Dollar’s buying rate is set at NPR 85.97, and the selling rate is NPR 86.35. The Canadian Dollar has a buying rate of NPR 94.93 and a selling rate of NPR 95.35. The Singapore Dollar’s buying rate is NPR 100.35, with the selling rate at NPR 100.80.
For other currencies, the Japanese Yen has a buying rate of NPR 8.81 per 10 Yen and a selling rate of NPR 8.85. The Chinese Yuan has a buying rate of NPR 18.61 and a selling rate of NPR 18.69. The Saudi Riyal is priced at NPR 36.08 for buying and NPR 36.24 for selling. The Qatari Riyal’s buying rate is NPR 37.18, and the selling rate is NPR 37.34.
Other rates include the Thai Baht at NPR 3.97 for buying and NPR 3.98 for selling, the UAE Dirham at NPR 36.90 for buying and NPR 37.07 for selling, and the Malaysian Ringgit at NPR 30.35 for buying and NPR 30.58 for selling.
The South Korean Won is priced at NPR 9.42 per 100 Won for buying and NPR 9.47 for selling. The Swedish Krona has a buying rate of NPR 12.40 and a selling rate of NPR 12.46. The Danish Krona is priced at NPR 19.06 for buying and NPR 19.15 for selling.
The Hong Kong Dollar has a buying rate of NPR 17.45 and a selling rate of NPR 17.52. The Kuwaiti Dinar is set at NPR 440.57 for buying and NPR 442.52 for selling, while the Bahraini Dinar is set at NPR 359.33 for buying and NPR 360.92 for selling. The Omani Rial has a buying rate of NPR 352.05 and a selling rate of NPR 353.61.
The Indian Rupee has been fixed at NPR 160 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling per 100 Rupees.
NRB has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision at any time, as per the bank’s requirements. The exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary, and updated rates will be available on the central bank’s website.
