Nepal Rastra Bank Publishes Foreign Currency Exchange Rates for Today

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank of Nepal, has released the official foreign exchange rates for various international currencies applicable for today. According to the updated figures published by NRB, exchange rates for major global currencies, including the US Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, and others, have been revised. The rates, as announced by the central bank, serve as a benchmark for commercial transactions and foreign exchange dealings across the country.

US Dollar and Euro Show Moderate Strength

As per the NRB bulletin, the US Dollar is being traded at a buying rate of NPR 136.70 and a selling rate of NPR 137.30. This rate reflects the steady performance of the US Dollar in Nepal’s financial market, aligning with global demand for the currency in trade, remittances, and investment.

Similarly, the Euro is trading at a buying rate of NPR 156.06 and a selling rate of NPR 156.74. The Euro, one of the most significant foreign currencies used in European trade and tourism transactions, remains a strong currency in Nepal’s exchange basket.

UK Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, and Canadian Dollar Updates

The UK Pound Sterling, widely recognized for its high value in the global market, has been set at a buying rate of NPR 185.34 and a selling rate of NPR 186.16. Meanwhile, the Swiss Franc, another stable currency known for its secure status in international reserves, is trading at NPR 166.59 (buying) and NPR 167.32 (selling).

The Canadian Dollar, essential for trade and education-related remittances, has been fixed at NPR 99.92 for buying and NPR 100.36 for selling, showing a slight increase from previous days.

Exchange Rates for Australian, Singaporean, and Asian Currencies

In the Asia-Pacific region, the Australian Dollar has been listed at a buying rate of NPR 89.18 and a selling rate of NPR 89.57, while the Singapore Dollar is trading at NPR 106.33 for buying and NPR 106.80 for selling. These rates show moderate stability in the market with minor fluctuations based on international trends.

For regional neighbors, the Japanese Yen (in the unit of 10) is set at NPR 9.47 buying and NPR 9.51 selling, and the Chinese Yuan at NPR 19.04 (buying) and NPR 19.12 (selling). These figures are particularly important as Nepal maintains strong trade and tourism ties with both China and Japan.

Middle Eastern Currencies: Saudi, Qatari, and UAE Riyals

The Middle East remains a key region for Nepali migrant workers, and foreign exchange rates of Gulf currencies are closely monitored. The Saudi Arabian Riyal is set at NPR 36.45 for buying and NPR 36.61 for selling, while the Qatari Riyal is trading at NPR 37.51 (buying) and NPR 37.68 (selling).

Likewise, the UAE Dirham has been fixed at NPR 37.22 for buying and NPR 37.38 for selling, continuing its stable performance amid consistent labor remittance inflow from the UAE.

Other Asian and European Currencies: Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea

For other major Asian currencies, the Malaysian Ringgit is set at NPR 32.31 (buying) and NPR 32.45 (selling). The Thai Baht has a relatively lower exchange rate, listed at NPR 4.18 for buying and NPR 4.20 for selling.

South Korea’s currency, the South Korean Won (in units of 100), is trading at NPR 10.09 (buying) and NPR 10.13 (selling). These currencies are significant for Nepali students, tourists, and migrant workers operating in these countries.

The Bahraini Dinar is also highly valued, trading at NPR 362.55 (buying) and NPR 364.14 (selling). Additionally, the Omani Riyal has been set at NPR 355.09 for buying and NPR 356.65 for selling, reflecting the strength of Gulf economies in the global currency market. The Hong Kong Dollar has also maintained its presence with NPR 17.42 (buying) and NPR 17.49 (selling).

Indian Rupee Exchange Rate

The Indian Rupee (INR), with which Nepal maintains a close economic and financial relationship, has been valued at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling for 100 INR. Given the high volume of cross-border trade and travel, the INR rate continues to be one of the most watched exchange figures in the country.

Central Bank’s Advisory and Commercial Bank Variations

Nepal Rastra Bank has further clarified that these rates are subject to revision depending on market conditions and international exchange fluctuations. The bank has reserved the right to modify these rates at any time as necessary.

It is also important to note that individual commercial banks in Nepal may set their own exchange rates, which can slightly differ from the official rates provided by the central bank. For the most accurate and real-time updates, NRB advises the public to refer to its official website.

Today’s foreign exchange bulletin reflects ongoing global economic trends and helps guide Nepal’s import-export, remittance, and foreign travel sectors. With foreign currency playing a pivotal role in the country’s economy, updated rates from the central bank are a critical reference point for businesses, travelers, and financial institutions alike.
