Nepal Rastra Bank Sets Foreign Exchange Rates for Wednesday

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the official foreign exchange rates for Wednesday, reflecting the latest values of various foreign currencies against the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). According to the central bank, the buying rate of the US Dollar has been set at NPR 136.72, while the selling rate is NPR 137.32. These rates serve as official references for transactions involving foreign currencies, especially in banking, finance, trade, and remittance services.

Among the major global currencies, the buying rate for the Euro stands at NPR 153.79, with the selling rate at NPR 154.46. The British Pound Sterling is being traded at NPR 182.81 for buying and NPR 183.61 for selling. The Swiss Franc, another widely used currency in international finance, is pegged at NPR 164.05 (buying) and NPR 164.77 (selling).

In terms of currencies from the Asia-Pacific region, the Australian Dollar is trading at NPR 87.71 (buying) and NPR 88.09 (selling), while the Canadian Dollar’s rates have been fixed at NPR 98.05 for buying and NPR 98.48 for selling. The Singapore Dollar is available at NPR 105.50 (buying) and NPR 105.96 (selling).

Among the Asian currencies, the Japanese Yen is quoted for 10 units, with the buying rate at NPR 9.46 and selling at NPR 9.50. The Chinese Yuan has been fixed at NPR 18.94 for buying and NPR 19.02 for selling. The Saudi Arabian Riyal is trading at NPR 36.45 (buying) and NPR 36.61 (selling), while the Qatari Riyal has a buying rate of NPR 37.51 and a selling rate of NPR 37.68.

Additional regional currencies listed by the central bank include the Thai Baht, which is trading at NPR 4.14 (buying) and NPR 4.16 (selling). The United Arab Emirates Dirham has been valued at NPR 37.22 for buying and NPR 37.39 for selling. The Malaysian Ringgit stands at NPR 31.80 (buying) and NPR 31.94 (selling), and the South Korean Won (per 100 units) is being exchanged at NPR 9.81 for buying and NPR 9.85 for selling.

As for Scandinavian currencies, the Swedish Krona is quoted at NPR 14.14 (buying) and NPR 14.20 (selling), and the Danish Krone is available at NPR 20.62 (buying) and NPR 20.71 (selling).

Nepal Rastra Bank has also listed the exchange rates of some of the Middle Eastern currencies, which are crucial for remittance and trade. The Hong Kong Dollar is priced at NPR 17.47 (buying) and NPR 17.55 (selling). The Kuwaiti Dinar, one of the highest-valued currencies globally, is trading at NPR 445.25 for buying and NPR 447.21 for selling. Similarly, the Bahraini Dinar is available at NPR 362.64 (buying) and NPR 364.23 (selling), and the Omani Riyal is being exchanged at NPR 355.14 (buying) and NPR 356.70 (selling).

In the context of the Indian currency, which is widely used in Nepal for cross-border transactions, 100 Indian Rupees have been fixed at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling.

The central bank has noted that these exchange rates are subject to change based on market dynamics and can be revised at any time if necessary. Furthermore, the bank has clarified that individual commercial banks may set slightly different rates for buying and selling foreign currencies, depending on their operational and market conditions.
