Nepal Rastra Bank has released the foreign exchange rates for today, marking a record high for the US Dollar. The dollar, which has been steadily increasing, continued its upward trajectory today as well. Several other major currencies, including the Euro, Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Saudi Arabian Riyal, Qatari Riyal, Thai Baht, UAE Dirham, Malaysian Ringgit, South Korean Won, Swedish Krona, Hong Kong Dollar, Kuwaiti Dinar, Bahraini Dinar, and Omani Rial, also saw a rise in their value. However, the Canadian Dollar experienced a decline, while some other currencies remained stable.
According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US Dollar is set at NPR 138.19, and the selling rate is NPR 138.79. The buying rate for one Euro is NPR 142.17, with a selling rate of NPR 142.79. Similarly, the Pound Sterling is priced at NPR 168.67 for buying and NPR 169.41 for selling, while the Swiss Franc stands at NPR 151.54 for buying and NPR 152.20 for selling.
The Australian Dollar’s buying and selling rates are NPR 85.83 and NPR 86.20, respectively, and the Canadian Dollar is priced at NPR 96.13 for buying and NPR 96.55 for selling. The Singapore Dollar is valued at NPR 101.07 for buying and NPR 101.51 for selling.
For the Japanese Yen, the rate is NPR 8.87 for buying and NPR 8.91 for selling per 10 Yen. The Chinese Yuan is priced at NPR 18.85 for buying and NPR 18.93 for selling. Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi Arabian Riyal is priced at NPR 36.83 for buying and NPR 36.99 for selling, while the Qatari Riyal is at NPR 37.92 for buying and NPR 38.08 for selling.
Other notable rates include the Thai Baht at NPR 4.00 for buying and NPR 4.01 for selling, the UAE Dirham at NPR 37.62 for buying and NPR 37.79 for selling, and the Malaysian Ringgit at NPR 30.69 for buying and NPR 30.83 for selling. The South Korean Won is valued at NPR 9.48 per 100 for buying and NPR 9.52 for selling, while the Swedish Krona is NPR 12.38 for buying and NPR 12.44 for selling.
The Hong Kong Dollar is priced at NPR 17.74 for buying and NPR 17.82 for selling. Among premium currencies, the Kuwaiti Dinar is valued at NPR 447.80 for buying and NPR 449.74 for selling, the Bahraini Dinar at NPR 366.61 for buying and NPR 368.20 for selling, and the Omani Rial at NPR 358.95 for buying and NPR 360.51 for selling.
The Indian Rupee stands at NPR 160.00 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling per 100 units.
The central bank has stated that these rates are subject to change as needed. Commercial banks may set slightly different rates, and the updated rates are available on Nepal Rastra Bank’s official website.
