The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok, Thailand, has announced a significant reduction in visa fees for tourists planning to visit Nepal. The decision comes after adjustments in the exchange rate between the US Dollar and Thai Baht, according to the embassy.

New Visa Fees Effective January 1, 2026
The revised visa fee structure, effective from January 1, 2026, will allow tourists to obtain visas at lower costs than before. The updated fees are as follows:
- 15-day tourist visa: Reduced from 1,200 THB to 950 THB
- 30-day tourist visa: Reduced from 2,000 THB to 1,600 THB
- 90-day tourist visa: Reduced from 5,000 THB to 4,000 THB

Positive Impact on Tourism Promotion
The reduction in visa fees is expected to boost the number of Thai tourists visiting Nepal. Thailand is one of Nepal’s key tourist source countries. With more affordable visa options, Thai citizens interested in religious, adventure, and cultural tourism are likely to be encouraged to explore Nepal.
Popular destinations among Thai tourists include Lumbini, Pokhara, Chitwan, the Kathmandu Valley, and various mountain trekking regions. The influx of tourists is anticipated to have a positive impact on local tourism businesses, hotels, travel agencies, and employment opportunities.

Lower visa fees are expected to make Nepal more competitive in the international tourism market and strengthen its position as an affordable destination. The Embassy of Nepal in Bangkok has confirmed that the revised visa fees will be officially implemented from January 1, 2026.
