Nepal has made a powerful impression at the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious tourism exhibitions, by showcasing its natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventure tourism potential on the global stage.
Held at Excel London from November 4 to 6, this year’s WTM has brought together thousands of tourism professionals, investors, travel media, and global stakeholders from across the world. Representing Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is leading a strong national delegation that includes 27 tourism companies, ranging from tour operators and hotels to airlines, conservation partners, and community-based tourism enterprises.

The Nepali delegation aims to reposition Nepal as a “Lifetime Experience Destination”, emphasizing its Himalayan adventure, spiritual journeys, rural encounters, and wildlife conservation success stories as unique selling points to attract travelers seeking meaningful and sustainable experiences.

High-Level Representation from Nepal
The Nepali delegation is being led by Hari Prasad Mainali, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and Chairperson of the Nepal Tourism Board, while the overall coordination and international promotional campaign are being spearheaded by Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of NTB.
Addressing the global gathering, Chairperson Mainali highlighted Nepal’s evolving tourism identity and resilience in the face of changing global travel trends. “Nepal is a safe, attractive, and diverse destination offering a wide range of authentic experiences,” he said. “Our participation in a prestigious platform like WTM London will strengthen our global presence and reinforce Nepal’s tourism identity in the world market.”

He further emphasized that responsible tourism remains at the core of Nepal’s development strategy. “Through new safety protocols, eco-friendly policies, and community-based conservation programs, Nepal inspires every visitor to contribute positively to local communities and the environment,” Mainali added.
Promoting Nepal as a “Lifetime Experience Destination”
CEO Deepak Raj Joshi reiterated Nepal’s vision to reestablish itself as a “Lifetime Experience Destination”, a place where travelers find not just scenic beauty but transformative experiences. “We are focused on positioning Nepal as a destination that travelers remember for a lifetime,” Joshi said. “Our participation in WTM London will play a decisive role in increasing international arrivals, expanding global partnerships, and strengthening Nepal’s tourism economy.”

He extended an open invitation to global travelers to rediscover Nepal: “At WTM London 2025, we invite the world to rediscover Nepal, a land where majestic mountains, vibrant culture, unique wildlife, and dedicated communities come together. Our revival is strong, our commitment to conservation is unwavering, and Nepal is open to the world once again.”
Nepal Pavilion: A Celebration of Nature, Culture, and Conservation
At the exhibition, Nepal’s pavilion, Booth No. N-12-511, is attracting significant attention. Designed under the theme “Where Nature, Culture, and Conservation Converge”, the pavilion offers a visually captivating and interactive experience that brings Nepal’s diversity to life.
Visitors can explore panoramic visuals of Nepal’s Himalayan destinations, sacred Buddhist and Hindu sites, and vibrant cultural heritage landmarks. Exhibits highlight Nepal’s growing segments such as wellness and meditation tourism, adventure trekking, rural homestay experiences, and wildlife conservation initiatives led by local communities.

The pavilion also features interactive sessions, multimedia displays, and business-to-business (B2B) networking events designed to connect Nepali tourism entrepreneurs with global travel partners and media. According to NTB, the event provides an exceptional platform for expanding international collaboration, enhancing brand visibility, and driving post-pandemic tourism recovery.
Focus on Responsible and Sustainable Tourism
Both Mainali and Joshi underlined Nepal’s commitment to responsible, sustainable, and inclusive tourism. The country’s approach integrates environmental protection, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment of local communities.
Nepal’s tourism strategy also emphasizes promoting less-visited destinations, such as rural trails, mid-hill eco-villages, and new Himalayan peaks, to ensure that tourism growth benefits remote regions equitably. The NTB’s campaign encourages travelers to experience the authentic lifestyle, spirituality, and hospitality that define Nepal. “Our goal is not just to increase the number of visitors but to ensure that tourism in Nepal creates lasting value, for travelers, for communities, and for nature,” Joshi said during an interview at the pavilion.

Global Engagement and Networking Opportunities
Throughout the three-day event, the Nepal delegation has been engaging in B2B meetings, media briefings, and partnership discussions with travel and investment companies from Europe, North America, and Asia. These interactions are expected to yield new collaborations, joint promotions, and product development in adventure, spiritual, and sustainable tourism sectors.

In addition, Nepal’s participation in WTM London provides an opportunity to showcase recent tourism reforms, improved air connectivity, and the upgraded safety standards that align with international best practices. NTB’s digital initiatives and community tourism models are also being recognized as examples of resilience and innovation in post-pandemic tourism recovery.
Nepal’s Renewed Message to the World
By presenting itself at WTM London 2025, Nepal sends a clear message to the global travel community, that the country is ready, resilient, and reenergized. The Himalayan nation, long admired for its mountains, monasteries, and warm hospitality, is positioning itself not just as a trekking destination but as a comprehensive travel experience, combining adventure, wellness, spirituality, and culture.
As the global tourism industry continues to evolve, Nepal’s focus on authenticity, sustainability, and community benefit sets it apart as a model for meaningful travel in the modern era. “Nepal’s tourism revival is not just about numbers; it’s about experiences that touch the soul,” CEO Joshi concluded. “We invite the world to experience Nepal, a land of nature, culture, and compassion.”
