The Nepal Tourism Board successfully participated in the 2025 East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT), held in Istanbul from February 5-7, 2025. This prestigious three-day event provided Nepal with an excellent platform to promote its rich cultural heritage, adventure tourism, and spiritual experiences to a global audience, particularly targeting Turkish and Southeast European travelers.
Representing Nepal at EMITT 2025 was an NTB delegation, accompanied by leading tour operators such as Journey DMC Pvt. Ltd., Well Nepal Travel and Tours Pvt. Ltd., Nepal Social Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd., Crystal Adventures Pvt. Ltd., 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking Pvt. Ltd., and Adventure Outdoor Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd.
Together, these stakeholders showcased Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings, focusing on adventure trekking, pilgrimage circuits, eco-tourism, and sustainable travel. Visitors at the Nepal booth explored customized tour packages, gained insights into Nepal’s natural and cultural attractions, and learned about its adventure tourism experiences.
EMITT 2025 saw an overwhelming response from Turkish travelers, as well as visitors from the Balkan nations and the broader Southeast European region. The growing interest in Nepal’s tourism sector can be attributed to improved flight connectivity, a rising global demand for cultural tourism, and Nepal’s reputation as an adventure destination.
In 2024, Nepal welcomed 5,373 Turkish tourists, marking a steady increase from previous years. Additionally, significant visitor numbers were recorded from key European nations, including Germany (29,801), the UK (57,554), and France (25,126). These figures highlight Nepal’s expanding global presence and its increasing appeal among international travelers.
Nepal’s participation in EMITT 2025 aligns with its broader tourism strategy to attract high-value travelers and establish itself as a year-round destination. The NTB remains committed to promoting sustainable tourism growth through enhanced international collaborations and expanded market outreach.
The successful participation at EMITT 2025 marks another milestone in Nepal’s journey to becoming a top global tourism destination. The Nepal Tourism Board extends its gratitude to all stakeholders and visitors who contributed to this success and looks forward to strengthening ties with Turkish and European travel markets in the future.
