The Embassy of Nepal in Berlin, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), organized “Nepal Evening” as a special sideline event during ITB Berlin 2026 on March 3 to promote the country’s tourism sector in Germany.
Strengthening Tourism Ties With Germany
During the event, Chargé d’affaires a.i. Sagar Prasad Phuyal highlighted the country’s vast tourism potential, rich cultural heritage, and growing investment opportunities in the tourism sector. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people ties with Germany. Phuyal briefed guests about recent reforms and developments in the country’s tourism industry and warmly invited German travelers to visit the country and experience its unique attractions.

Presentation on “Destination Nepal”
Senior Officer of the NTB, Srijana Nepali, delivered a presentation titled “Destination Nepal,” outlining the current status of the country’s tourism sector and key initiatives aimed at promoting the country in the international market.

Experts Highlight Sustainable and Adventure Tourism
Speaking at the programme, tourism expert Geoffrey Lipman emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism and the development of niche tourism markets. Similarly, Juergen Steinmetz shared his long-standing association with our tourism industry, while Hanna Pearson highlighted the country’s strong potential as a leading global destination for adventure tourism.
Cultural Performances and Hospitality
The event also featured cultural performances and traditional hospitality offered by the people, including the offering of the traditional Dhaka Topi to guests. Around 200 diplomats, tourism stakeholders, diaspora members, and media representatives attended the programme. Moderated by Ranjan Yadav, the event concluded with a dinner reception featuring authentic and traditional cuisine.
