A bus carrying Nepali pilgrims met with an accident in Samastipur, Bihar, India, on Saturday night. The incident resulted in injuries to 45 individuals from Baragadhi Gaunpalika-3, Murtipaliya. Among the passengers, 25 were women and 6 were children, making a total of 47 pilgrims on board.
Three people sustained serious injuries, including Devanarayan Pandit, Subodh Sah Teli, and a nine-year-old girl. Two others were reported to be unharmed. According to Prakash Sapkota, Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson at the District Police Office, Bara, the accident occurred when a truck collided with the bus from behind. The bus, registered under number NA7K 6446 and operated by Dev Darshan, was en route to the Deoghar Baba Dham pilgrimage site in Bihar.
Deputy Superintendent Sapkota confirmed that all the pilgrims are from Murtipaliya, Baragadhi Gaunpalika-3. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Samastipur District Hospital and other private clinics.
The bus had departed from Raxaul Naka on Saturday morning at 11 am, heading to various pilgrimage sites in India. Prior to their journey, the pilgrims had conducted a communal worship session in their village. The bus belonged to Rajaram Sah from Baragadhi-1, as reported by the District Police Office.
