In recent days, the value of the US dollar has been consistently reaching new highs in Nepal. As of Thursday, the Nepal Rastra Bank has set the selling rate of one US dollar at NPR 134.64 and the buying rate at NPR 134.04. This marks the highest value of the dollar ever recorded in the country.
Alongside the dollar, other major currencies have also seen notable increases. The selling rate of one Euro has risen to NPR 147.05, while the British Pound Sterling has reached NPR 171.44. The Australian Dollar is now valued at NPR 88.49 for selling, and the Canadian Dollar stands at NPR 97.97.
The Nepal Rastra Bank has also updated the rates for various other currencies. The selling rate for one Saudi Riyal is NPR 35.86, with a buying rate of NPR 35.70. The Qatari Riyal is priced at NPR 36.92 for selling and NPR 36.76 for buying. Meanwhile, the UAE Dirham has a selling rate of NPR 36.66 and a buying rate of NPR 36.49. Additionally, the Malaysian Ringgit is set at NPR 29.94 for selling and NPR 29.81 for buying.
These fluctuations reflect the broader trends in global currency markets and have implications for both trade and travel in Nepal. As the value of the US dollar continues to climb, it is expected to affect various economic sectors and consumer prices within the country.
