In today’s trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline, with the index falling by 12.38 points, or 0.46%, to close at 2,669.76. This decrease follows a previous session decline of 14.88 points. The trading session began with the NEPSE index at 2,679.97 and fluctuated throughout the day, reaching a high of 2,685.87 and a low of 2,666.69.
The total turnover for the day was Rs. 4.56 Arba, with 9,599,343 shares traded across 312 companies through 55,476 transactions. Despite the decline in the overall index, the trading volume indicated active participation from investors in the market.

The Hotels and Tourism Index also faced a downturn, declining by 31.93 points, or 0.48%, to settle at 6,539.63. This drop comes after the index had previously risen by 7.06 points. The sector’s trading session opened at 6,571.57 and fluctuated between a high of 6,599.83 and a low of 6,525.28.
While the overall stock market witnessed a decline today, the Hotels and Tourism Index’s downturn reflects the challenges the sector is currently facing in the wake of shifting market conditions.
