The trading day began with the index opening at 2,674.15, reaching an intraday high of 2,684.77 before dipping to a low of 2,655.29. Market activity was robust, with a total turnover of Rs. 6.52 Arba generated from the trading of 14,299,394 shares. These shares were exchanged across 318 listed companies through 59,633 transactions. The overall market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.52 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15.00 Kharba, reflecting the value of freely tradable shares.
In contrast to the general market’s slight uptrend, the Hotel and Tourism Index experienced a decline, slipping by 6.43 points or 0.09% to settle at 6,733.69. This drop follows a sharper decline of 62.08 points in the previous session. The index opened at 6,740.13, hit an intraday peak of 6,789.70, and fell to a low of 6,664.41 during the day.
Overall, today’s trading reflects cautious optimism in the broader market, while the Hotel and Tourism sector continues to face downward pressure.
