NEPSE Index Rises by 17.44 Points; Hotel and Tourism Sector Sees Notable Rebound

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a positive trading session today, with the benchmark index climbing by 17.44 points (0.65%), closing at 2,693.06. This comes after a modest 0.85-point gain in the previous session, signaling sustained investor confidence.

The market opened at 2,675.61, reaching an intraday high of 2,696.78 and a low of 2,666.50. The total daily turnover stood at Rs. 8.58 Arba, with 20,759,547 shares changing hands across 323 listed companies through 77,316 transactions. By the end of the trading day, the total market capitalization was reported at Rs. 44.83 Kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 15.13 Kharba.

Among sectoral indices, the Hotel and Tourism Index showed a notable rebound, gaining 54.93 points (0.81%) to close at 6,788.62, recovering from a 6.43-point loss recorded in the previous session. The sector opened at 6,670.37, surged to an intraday high of 6,873.52, and touched a low of 6,670.36 during the day.

The day’s performance highlights growing momentum in the stock market, particularly in tourism-related sectors, signaling potential optimism among investors as economic activities and travel sentiments continue to improve.
