NEPSE Records Double-Digit Loss; Hotel and Tourism Index Declines Further

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend, closing today’s session with a double-digit loss of 15.54 points (0.59%), settling at 2,594.13. This follows a previous session loss of 25.41 points, marking a challenging period for the stock market.

NEPSE opened at 2,610.05 and fluctuated throughout the day, hitting an intraday high of 2,615.55 and a low of 2,580.74, reflecting investor uncertainty.

The Hotel and Tourism Index also faced a significant setback, dropping by 90.46 points (1.36%) to close at 6,554.01. This follows another double-digit loss of 51.87 points in the previous session, emphasizing a bearish outlook for the sector.

Starting at 6,644.48, the index saw intraday volatility, reaching a high of 6,644.47 and a low of 6,515.84, highlighting the challenges faced by tourism-related stocks.

Market observers suggest that continued declines in these indices may indicate cautious investor sentiment and the need for sectoral recovery strategies.
