Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City has inaugurated a new cultural monument, known as “Phalcha,” aimed at preserving and promoting local heritage. The Phalcha, constructed in Ward No. 5, was ceremoniously launched by Mayor Khel Raj Pandey on Monday. Mayor Pandey explained that the creation of the Phalcha aligns with maintaining Butwal’s historical identity and local traditions, and plans are underway to build similar structures, such as Chautaris and resting places, across various locations in the current fiscal year to protect diverse cultures and traditions.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Sabitra Devi Aryal highlighted the goal of establishing Butwal as a livable city by enhancing and preserving public spaces. She emphasized that the city’s infrastructure has been developed to embrace and reflect the diversity of all communities. Ward No. 5 Chairperson Hari Prasad Shrestha added that the construction of such cultural structures is part of Butwal’s broader effort to integrate and celebrate its artistic and cultural heritage.
