In the first nine months of 2024, a total of 6.8 million passengers traveled through Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), with 3.2 million on domestic flights and 3.6 million on international flights, according to the airport’s official report.
During this period, 29 international airlines and helicopters, along with 20 domestic airlines, operated at the airport. Among the most popular carriers, Buddha Air led the domestic sector, while Qatar Airways dominated international flights.
Buddha Air, with 35,102 flights, served 1.96 million passengers, accounting for over 60% of the total domestic travel. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways carried 450,000 passengers through 1,836 flight operations. Nepal Airlines, in second place, operated 2,348 flights and transported 411,000 passengers.
In total, TIA saw 24,801 international flight arrivals and departures in the same period. Out of these, 12,398 flights carried 1.92 million passengers to various international destinations.
