The Pathibhara Area Development Committee has decided to take initiative to have the renowned Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The committee’s executive director, Prajin Hangbang, stated that the meeting of the Pathibhara Area Development Committee resolved to take significant steps towards listing Pathibhara as a World Heritage site and developing it as an international heritage destination.
To achieve this, the committee will coordinate with the Department of Archaeology under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation and formally request the inclusion of Pathibhara Temple in the World Heritage List.
Pathibhara Temple is one of Nepal’s major power spots and holds great religious, historical, and cultural significance. The committee’s chairman, Rakki Thebe, emphasized that the inclusion of Pathibhara in the World Heritage List is an essential endeavor, and efforts have now begun to make this a reality.
Millions of devotees, both domestic and foreign, visit Pathibhara Temple annually. The belief that visiting Pathibhara fulfills wishes has led to a growing number of visitors each year, as reported by the committee.
