The 19th edition of the Pokhara International Marathon is scheduled to take place on February 15, 2025. The announcement was made by the Nepal Former Players Forum (Pokhara) during a press briefing today.
This year, the marathon will feature a new addition: a 21-kilometer men’s marathon, according to Hari Prasad Parajuli, the Forum’s president. Established in 2001, the organization has been consistently hosting this international marathon event each year.
The competition, held under the slogan “For Health, For Pokhara,” reported a financial summary from its 18th edition, which included an income of NPR 7.524 million and expenditures of NPR 7.152 million, resulting in a surplus of NPR 372,000.
For the upcoming 19th edition, the Forum has proposed a total prize pool of NPR 2.134 million. This event not only promotes physical fitness but also boosts tourism in Pokhara, drawing participants and spectators from around the globe.
