As Mahashivaratri approaches, the Pashupati area is being beautifully decorated. Places like Ban Kali, Bhuvaneshwari, the main temple, ghats, Ram Temple, and Mrigasthali are illuminated with lights.
The lights have made the Pashupati area shine throughout the night, with flags of Nepal also creatively displayed. Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, the member secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Fund, mentioned that the decoration with lights and flowers has enhanced the area’s appeal.

The painting work for Mahashivaratri is nearing completion, adding to the attractiveness of Pashupati. Dipak Prasad Ghimire, who arrived from Balaju, noted that the area looks beautiful with lights and flowers shaped like Nepal’s flag.

To prepare for Mahashivaratri, a main organizing committee of 201 members has been formed under the chairmanship of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, who is also the chair of the fund’s management committee.
There are nine subcommittees under the main committee. The security subcommittee is led by member secretary Dr. Thapa, with other subcommittees focusing on monitoring, volunteer management, health services, arrangements for saints and religious programs, publicity, accommodation and food, temple visits, and environmental cleanliness. Dr. Thapa stated that the main organizing committee and all nine subcommittees have finalized their preparations for Mahashivaratri.
