Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist), has emphasized the importance of preserving the traditional cultures of all communities in Nepal. In his message for Krishna Janmashtami and Gaura Festival, Nepal highlighted that safeguarding native festivals and cultural practices contributes to societal unity and the creation of a well-cultured community.
Nepal, who has also served as the Prime Minister, stated that in a nation characterized by its multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-lingual, and multi-cultural diversity, the traditional festivals celebrated by various ethnic groups enhance social cohesion. He expressed his belief that these cultural practices bolster national pride and promote values of mutual respect, coexistence, goodwill, and unity.
He praised the Gaura Festival, particularly celebrated in the Far-Western region of Nepal, for fostering a sense of unity and tolerance within Nepal’s diverse society. Chairman Nepal underscored the need to promote the cultural identity of all communities, asserting that this will strengthen national unity and help eradicate social inequality.
In his remarks, Nepal emphasized that the preservation of traditional festivals and cultures plays a crucial role in enhancing societal solidarity and national integrity.
