President Paudel Extends Best Wishes on the Occasion of Indrajatra Festival

President Ram Chandra Paudel has extended heartfelt best wishes to all Nepali citizens on the auspicious occasion of the Indrajatra festival, celebrated today. In his message, President Paudel conveyed wishes for peace, prosperity, and happiness to all Nepali sisters and brothers.

Highlighting the cultural significance of Indrajatra, President Paudel noted that the festival celebrates the God of rains and good harvest, Indra, along with the worship of the living Goddess, Kumari. He added that the festival is marked by the grand chariot procession of Lord Ganesh and Bhairav in the heart of Kathmandu Valley.

President Paudel emphasized the deep connection between the festival and nature, stating, “We pay obeisance to God Indra for a good harvest, which reflects the harmonious relationship humans share with nature.” He also underlined the importance of such native festivals in preserving Nepal’s ancient civilization and cultural heritage.

The festival is predominantly celebrated in the districts of Kathmandu Valley, along with the neighboring districts of Kavrepalanchowk and Dolakha.

In his message, the President expressed hope that the festival would strengthen national unity, harmony, and goodwill among the people from various cultures, languages, and regions of Nepal. He further wished that the occasion would inspire everyone to work towards social justice, economic prosperity, and the sustainable use of natural resources for a balanced future.
