On the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, President Ram Chandra Paudel visited the renowned Krishna Temple located in Patan, Lalitpur, where he offered prayers and received blessings. The President performed the rituals and received flowers and prasad from the temple priests.
Upon his arrival at the temple, President Paudel was warmly welcomed by federal parliamentarians elected from Lalitpur, Bagmati Provincial Assembly members, Lalitpur’s Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, and Acting Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, among other officials.
After paying his respects at the temple, President Paudel also visited the nearby Mangahiti area, observing the historic site. The tradition of the head of state visiting the Krishna Temple to offer prayers on Krishna Janmashtami has been a longstanding practice.
Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated annually on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadra, commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna. Devotees from across the country flocked to Krishna temples, including the one in Patan, to celebrate the festival with devotion and enthusiasm.
