President Ramchandra Paudel arrived in Palpa today to witness the historic Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati chariot procession, a significant cultural event celebrated annually. Upon his arrival, President Paudel was welcomed by Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya, alongside other dignitaries including Defense Minister Manbir Rai and Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey.
The Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati chariot procession is a revered tradition held at the Tansen-based Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati Temple. This annual event, observed on the second day of Krishna Janmashtami, commemorates the victory over the British East India Company in a historic war.
Chief District Officer of Palpa, Ananda Kafle, informed that this year, the chariot procession of Aman Narayan will also take place on the same day as the Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati chariot procession, marking a rare occasion when both events coincide.
Before the chariot procession begins, President Paudel is scheduled to offer prayers at the Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati Temple. The event is expected to draw significant attention, highlighting Palpa’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.
