Review Meeting on Conservation Day Successfully Concluded in Ghachok

The Conservation Area Management Committee (CAMC) in Ghachok held a review meeting on 18th Poush 2081 (January 2, 2025) to discuss the outcomes of the recently organized Conservation Day program. The meeting, hosted by CAMC Ghachok and financially supported by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Ilaka Conservation Office in Lwang, focused on evaluating activities conducted during the Conservation Day on 29th Mangsir 2081 (December 15, 2024).

Key participants included Lekhnath Gautam, the Chief of the Conservation Office in Lwang, and Harishchandra Lamsal, Ward Chairperson of Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality, Ward No. 3. The meeting emphasized critical issues such as sustainable use, management, and collection of natural resources at the local level.

Discussions were held to identify strategies for enhancing conservation practices and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. The participants acknowledged the importance of community involvement in achieving long-term conservation goals and highlighted the role of local initiatives in maintaining ecological balance.

This review meeting is expected to set the groundwork for future conservation efforts in the Ghachok region and further strengthen the collaboration between local stakeholders and conservation authorities.
